Genetic dissection of human ABCE1 in yeast reveals separable requirements for ribosome recycling and suppression of aberrant reinitiation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human ABCE1 cannot functionally replace its yeast ortholog. Yeast–human chimera analysis identified NBD1 as a major interspecies barrier. Genetic screening yielded hABCE1 revertants that rescue yeast viability but fail to suppress aberrant translation reinitiation in the 3′ UTR.

Validation of PI-RADS version 2 in transition zone lesions for the detection of prostate cancer

open access: yes, 2018
© RSNA, 2018. Purpose: To determine the association between Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) version 2 scores and prostate cancer (PCa) in a cohort of patients undergoing biopsy of transition zone (TZ) lesions.

Diagnostic performance of magnetic resonance imaging-targeted biopsy for PI-RADS ≥3 peripheral zone lesions in multiparametric prostate magnetic resonance imaging: correlation with clinically significant prostate cancer

open access: yesDiagnostic and Interventional Radiology
PURPOSE: To evaluate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-targeted biopsy (MRI-TB) performance in detecting clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) with a Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) score of ≥3 peripheral zone (PZ) lesions ...

Multiparametric MRI and MR Spectroscopic Imaging of Prostate Lesions with Implementation of PI-RADS and Histopathological Correlation: A Prospective Analysis

open access: yesAsian Journal of Oncology, 2019
Introduction Majority of the elderly male population suffers from prostatism due to enlargement of the prostate as a result of what is now regarded as male climacteric.

Characterizing Cutaneous α‐Synuclein Deposition and Seeding Activity in Parkinson's Disease Subtypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cutaneous phosphorylated α‐synuclein (p‐syn) and α‐synuclein seeding activity are promising biomarkers for Parkinson's disease (PD), but their clinical value remains uncertain due to disease heterogeneity. This study evaluates these two biomarkers in PD patients to inform phenotype‐specific diagnosis and disease severity assessment ...

Validation of a Cellular Imaging‐Based Method as a Potential Biomarker for SPG4 Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP) comprises a group of rare genetic diseases characterized by length‐dependent axonal degeneration of the corticospinal tracts and dorsal columns, whose main clinical feature is spastic gait. Pathogenic variants in the SPG4 gene cause Spastic Paraplegia Type 4 (SPG4‐HSP), the most common form of HSP.

CSF Cytokine Network Organization Predicts Progression Independent of Relapse and MRI Activity in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Progression independent of relapse activity is a major determinant of long‐term disability in multiple sclerosis, but its immunopathologic basis remains incompletely understood. We investigated whether relapse‐independent progression in radiologically stable relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis is associated with distinct ...

Clinical, Histologic, and Serological Predictors of Renal Function Loss in Lupus Nephritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Kidney survival is the ultimate goal in lupus nephritis (LN) management, but long‐term predictors remain inadequately studied, requiring long‐term follow‐up. This study aimed to identify baseline and early longitudinal predictors of kidney survival in the Accelerating Medicines Partnership LN longitudinal cohort.
