Phytochemical Profiling and Evaluation of Antioxidant and Enzyme Inhibitory Activities of Selected Endemic Salvia Species (Lamiaceae) From Türkiye

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
The aerial parts extract of Salvia vermifolia exhibited notable inhibitory activity against α‐glucosidase and α‐amylase enzymes and demonstrated strong radical scavenging activities in the DPPH and ABTS assays. ABSTRACT Salvia (Lamiaceae) species have been used in food, cosmetics, and medicine for centuries. Besides their use as food, these species are

Genomic and Transcriptomic Analyses Provide Insights Into Erysiphe necator Pathogenicity and Grapevine Response

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 7, Page 4599-4618, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Grapevine powdery mildew, caused by the fungus Erysiphe necator, is one of the most prevalent obligate biotrophic pathogens in vineyards, posing a significant threat to grape production. Despite its impact, research on E. necator pathogenicity and grapevine responses remains limited.

VqBGH52 enhances the accumulation of trans-resveratrol through hydrolysis of trans-piceid and resistance to powdery mildew in Chinese wild grapevine

open access: yesHorticultural Plant Journal
Powdery mildew poses a significant threat to grapevine cultivation worldwide, resulting in increased production costs. Vitis quinquangularis accession ‘Danfeng-2’ accumulates high concentrations of stilbenes and exhibits resistance to powdery mildew ...

Applications of Ozonated Water for Effectively Controlling Grape Powdery Mildew in Vineyards and Enhancing Berry Metabolites

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 75, Issue 3, May–June 2026.
Ozonated water effectively controls grape powdery mildew with 85%–100% efficacy and inhibits Erysiphe necator spore germination by up to 97%. Preventive ozonated water treatments enhance polyphenolic metabolite accumulation—treated berries show higher levels of stilbenes and flavonoids.

Effects of resveratrol (RES) and piceid (PD) on cell cycle of MDA-MB-231 cells, MCF-7 cells and HepG2 cells. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Cultures of MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with varying concentrations of resveratrol and piceid for 24 h. At the end of treatment, cells were trypsinized, incubated with RNase, stained with propidium iodide (PI), and analyzed by flow cytometry.
