Preventive effect of Moringa oleifera seed oil (MOSEIL) in mice (Mus musculus) liver fibrosis model [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
Persistent liver injury leads to liver fibrosis, a pathological condition distinguished by the excessive deposition of extracellular matrix components, especially collagen.

Electrical‐Stimulation Hydrogel Electronic Skin for Sustainable Hybrid Biomechanical–Electromagnetic Energy Harvesting and Accelerating Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hybrid biomechanical–electromagnetic energy‐harvesting e‐skin is developed using a gelatin‐based outer matrix with a zwitterionic conductive inner layer. The e‐skin autonomously generates stable electrical stimulation from daily body motion and ambient electronics, enabling significantly enhanced wound healing bothin vitro and in vivo.

Fibrosis quantification using multiphoton excitation imaging of picrosirius red stained cardiac tissue

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract Traditional methodologies for fibrosis quantification involve histological measurements, staining with Masson’s trichrome and picrosirius red (PSR), and label-free imaging using second harmonic generation (SHG). The difficulty of label-free cardiac SHG imaging is that both collagen (i.e., collagen 1 fibrils) and myosin are ...

New approaches to studying morphological details of intramolluscan stages of Angiostrongylus vasorum

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Parasitologia Veterinária, 2020
Angiostrongylus vasorum is a pulmonary artery parasite of domestic and wild canid. On molluscs, intermediate host, first stage larvae (L1) are found after the first day of infection, in the 8th L2 and in the 30 th L3.

The E3 Ligase RNF115 Aggravates Pathological Cardiac Hypertrophy via Ubiquitin‐Mediated Degradation of SPTBN1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In response to hypertrophic stimuli, increased c‑JUN phosphorylation upregulates RNF115, leading to SPTBN1 ubiquitination and degradation. which promotes F‑actin depolymerization and YAP activation, driving cardiac hypertrophy. The RNF115 inhibitor DTD effectively suppresses SPTBN1 ubiquitination and cardiac hypertrophy.

Characterization of the extracellular matrix from human and dog umbilical cords

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The extracellular matrix is important for maintaining tissue morphogenesis and homeostasis; it can also be used as a biomaterial for the production of biological scaffolds. Particularly, the umbilical cord has shown potential in the production of scaffolds for small‐diameter vessels.

Clinical Anatomy of the Left and Right Atrial Appendages in Humans: Comparative and Developmental Perspective

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Human atrial chambers derive from distinct embryonic anlagens, the original embryonic atria gradually transforming into the so‐called auricles, or atrial appendages. This study quantifies macroscopic variations in pectinate muscle architecture in human atrial appendages and evaluates their visualization using clinical imaging modalities.

Nanostructure and Collagen-Stimulating Activity of Cationic Pentapeptide Lipopeptides. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Pept Sci
The self‐assembly in aqueous solutions, cytocompatibility and collagen production of lipopeptide C16–KTTKS (C16: hexadecyl) and a variant with arginine substitution for lysine, C16–RTTRS, are compared. ABSTRACT The self‐assembly in aqueous solutions, cytocompatibility, and collagen production of lipopeptide C16–KTTKS and a variant with arginine ...
