Estimation of axially-loaded bored piles interaction in the design of pile foundation/Centriškai apkrautų gręžtinių polių tarpusavio sąveikos įvertinimas projektuojant polinius pamatus

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2001
In Lithuania and many foreign countries traditional approach of replacing the pile group by equivalent raft foundation in order to estimate settlements is used. But now we have another method. H. Poulos [3] described the influence between piles in a pile

Analytical solution for dynamic interaction of end-bearing pile groups subjected to vertical dynamic loads

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2022
An analytical model for pile-soil-vertical coupled vibration of the pile considering the scattering effects of the passive pile is proposed based on the classical plane strain assumption.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Optimization of inter-helix spacing for helical piles in sand

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, 2022
The optimization of the inter-helix spacing is a key issue of the axial bearing capacity of helical piles. In this paper, based on the cavity expansion, an analytical approach considering the small-strain stiffness, strength, compressibility and stress ...

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

A Study on the Load-Bearing Characteristics and Load Transfer Mechanism of Bag Grouting Pile in Soft Soil Areas

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
In soft soil areas, to compare the load-bearing characteristics of bag grouting piles and cement mixing piles and study the load-bearing mechanism of bag grouting piles, field tests are conducted in this study, including the comparative compressive test ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Performance of screw piles in thick collapsible loess

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials, 2023
The bearing capacity of the composite foundation would be significantly increased by the squeezing effect of soil displacement screw pile. To investigate the effect of soil displacement screw pile treatment on the large-thickness collapsible loess ...

Experimental and numerical studies on an energy piled wall: The effect of thermally activated pile spacing

open access: yesGeomechanics for Energy and the Environment, 2022
Abstract Over the last decades, converting foundation elements such as piles, retaining walls and tunnel linings into energy geo-structures has gained popularity around the world. These geo-structures form part of ground source heat pump (GSHP) systems to constitute a clean, renewable, and economical solution for space heating and cooling.
