Solubilities of Pioglitazone Hydrochloride in Different Solvents
Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2011The solubility of pioglitazone hydrochloride (form I) in methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, acetic acid, and N,N-dimethylacetamide has been measured between 278.15 and 323.15 K at atmospheric pressure. The solubility of pioglitazone hydrochloride (form I) increases with increasing temperature and the order is N,N-dimethylacetamide > methanol > acetic acid >

Pioglitazone hydrochloride/glimepiride
Drugs of Today, 2007The combination of pioglitazone hydrochloride, a thiazolidinedione, and glimepiride, a sulfonylurea, has been approved in many countries worldwide as an oral agent for the management of type 2 diabetes. Glimepiride stimulates insulin secretion from the pancreas with a decreased risk of hypoglycemia compared to glyburide.

Hydrochloride pioglitazone decreases urinary cytokines excretion in type 2 diabetes
Clinical Endocrinology, 2010SummaryObjective To observe the effects of hydrochloride pioglitazone on urinary cytokine excretion in type 2 diabetes and to explore its possible reno‐protective mechanisms.Design Subjects and Methods. Ninety‐eight patients with type 2 diabetes and a fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels between 7.0 and 13.0 mm and glycated haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) ≥7 ...

Hydrochloride pioglitazone decreases urinary TGF‐β1 excretion in type 2 diabetics
European Journal of Clinical Investigation, 2010Eur J Clin Invest 2010; 40 (7): 571–574AbstractBackground Thiazolidinediones (TZDs) exert a number of direct reno‐protection beyond its hypoglycaemic effect in type 2 diabetics, which may be partly related to its anti‐fibrosis and anti‐ inflammatory action.Materials and methods A total of 98 type 2 diabetics with fasting blood glucose (FBG) between 7·

Stability indicating HPTLC method was developed and validated for Pioglitazone hydrochloride (PIO) and Metformin Hydrochloride (MET). The chromatographic separation were carried out using silica gel precoated aluminium plate 60F254, (20×10 cm2 and 10×10 cm2) as stationary phase and butanol:1,4-dioxane:glacial acetic acid in the proportion of 5:3:2 v/v ...

Response of Lichen Planopilaris to Pioglitazone Hydrochloride
Journal of drugs in dermatology : JDD, 2020Lichen planopilaris (LPP) is a cicatricial alopecia that often causes permanent hair loss. Pioglitazone, a peroxisome proliferator activated receptor-gamma (PPAR- γ) agonist, has demonstrated immunomodulatory properties that may offer an effective treatment modality.

AN ENHANCEMENT OF SOLUBILITY OF PIOGLITAZONE HYDROCHLORIDE USING LIQUISOLID TECHNIQUE
INDIAN DRUGS, 2013The new mathematical model was developed by studying angle of slide using N, N-dimethyl acetamide, non-volatile liquid vehicle and prepared liquisolid tablets, in which the different concentrations of non-volatile liquid adsorbed over carrier and coating material separately. Both DSC and FT-IR study showed better compatibility and stability.

The purpose of this study was to develop floating microparticles containing Pioglitazone HCl, for controlled release and perform pharmacodynamic studies. The FTIR and DSC studies revealed that there is no interaction between drug and excipients used. The 2(2) factorial design was employed to evaluate the effect of drug: polymer (total) and Eudragit RS ...
