Antiproliferative Role of Dopamine: Loss of D2 Receptors Causes Hormonal Dysfunction and Pituitary Hyperplasia [PDF]
The function of dopamine (DA) in the nervous system is paralleled by its neuroendocrine control of pituitary gland functions. Here, we document the neuroendocrine function of dopamine by studying the pituitary gland of mice lacking DA D2 receptors (D2R).

Investigating heterogeneous PSMA ligand uptake inside parotid glands [PDF]
The purpose was to investigate the spatial heterogeneity of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography (PET) uptake within parotid glands. We aim to quantify patterns in well-defined regions to facilitate further investigations.

Abstract Neuroanatomy studies in vertebrates have garnered significant attention in recent years, particularly driven by advancements in computerized tomography imaging techniques. Nonetheless, these advancements remain largely constrained to specific vertebrate groups, notably mammals, birds, and fish, leaving studies in reptiles at an incipient stage.

Vasotocin receptor expression in the brain and pituitary gland during the ovulatory cycle of the fowl [PDF]
Vasotocin receptors are members of seven transmembrane spanning G-protein associated receptors. Several isoforms have been recognized in mammals and birds.

A Recessive Mutation Resulting in a Disabling Amino Acid Substitution (T194R) in the LHX3 Homeodomain Causes Combined Pituitary Hormone Deficiency [PDF]
Background/Aims: Recessive mutations in the LHX3 homeodomain transcription factor gene are associated with developmental disorders affecting the pituitary and nervous system. We describe pediatric patients with combined pituitary hormone deficiency (CPHD)

This study was to evaluate the role of GH in lipolysis and insulin sensitivity in bovine adipocytes and clarify the underlying mechanism. Our findings demonstrate that GH activates ERK/HSL signaling pathway, promotes lipolysis, and impairs insulin sensitivity in bovine adipocytes.

Preliminary studies on hypophysation technique of induced breeding of Clarias lazera [PDF]
Fry supply is still the most serious problem yet to be solved in the culture of Clarias lazera in ponds. The object of the experiment is to compare the effect of fresh pituitary extract with that of the synthetic hormone with a view to determining the ...
