Unmasking the pituitary shadow 11 years postpartum: A case report of late-stage Sheehan's syndrome

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
Sheehan's syndrome (SS) is a rare but significant condition that occurs as a result of postpartum pituitary gland infarction, typically following severe blood loss or hypotension during or after childbirth.

Pituitary stalk transection syndrome: Comparison of clinico-radiological features in adults and children with review of literature

open access: yesIndian Journal of Radiology and Imaging, 2012
Hypo-pituitarism results from impaired production of one or more of anterior pituitary trophic hormones. A rare cause of hypo-pituitarism is pituitary stalk transection syndrome.

Chromatin status and transcription factor binding to gonadotropin promoters in gonadotrope cell lines. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
BackgroundProper expression of key reproductive hormones from gonadotrope cells of the pituitary is required for pubertal onset and reproduction. To further our understanding of the molecular events taking place during embryonic development, leading to ...

A preclinical mouse model mimicking the ovarian cancer‐induced estrogen deficiency‐depression axis

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
A preclinical mouse model of ovarian cancer–related depression was developed by combining intraperitoneal tumor cell injection, ovariectomy, and chronic restraint stress. The model replicates key clinical features including estrogen deficiency, depressive‐like behaviors, and tumor progression, and provides a reliable tool for studying the endocrine ...

The Clinical Spectrum and Neurodevelopmental Pathogenesis of KPTN‐Related Disorder in a Mouse Model

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Pathogenic variants in Kaptin (KPTN) cause KPTN‐related disorder (KRD). KPTN modulates mTOR signaling activation within the KICSTOR complex in response to cellular amino acid levels. We define the clinical spectrum and investigate the developmental pathogenesis of KRD.

CNC–PNIPAM Drug Delivery System Improves Endometrial Receptivity via Natural Killer Cell Immune Tolerance in Endometriosis

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
An injectable CNC–PNIPAM hydrogel is developed for intrauterine co‐delivery of levonorgestrel and botropase. This platform reprograms uterine natural killer cells toward an immune–tolerant phenotype and enhances endometrial receptivity marker expression. The results demonstrate a promising strategy to counteract endometriosis–associated infertility and

Influence of mirtazapine on salivary cortisol in depressed patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Unlike other antidepressants, mirtazapine does not inhibit the reuptake of norepinephrine or serotonin but acts as an antagonist at presynaptic alpha(2)-receptors, at postsynaptic 5-HT2 and 5-HT3 receptors, and at histaminergic H1 receptors. Furthermore,

Thyreotropic Hormone of Anterior Pituitary

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1933
SummaryWe have reported the physiological effects of a highly purified extract of the anterior pituitary containing the thyreotropic hormone, which gives complete replacement therapy in the hypo-physectomized rat and also produces a hyperplasia of the thyroid with hyperthyroidism in both the rat and the guinea pig.

Growth Hormone Promotes Lipolysis and Impairs Insulin Sensitivity by Activating the ERK/HSL Signaling Pathway in Bovine Adipocytes

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study was to evaluate the role of GH in lipolysis and insulin sensitivity in bovine adipocytes and clarify the underlying mechanism. Our findings demonstrate that GH activates ERK/HSL signaling pathway, promotes lipolysis, and impairs insulin sensitivity in bovine adipocytes.

Influence of Apricot Kernels on Blood Plasma Levels of Selected Anterior Pituitary Hormones in Male and Female Rabbits in vivo

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2023
Amygdalin is represented in the family Rosacea more precisely in apricot kernels and almonds. There are a lot of components such as trace elements, vitamins, carbohydrates, organic acids, esters, phenols, terpenoids, except cyanogenic glycoside in the ...
