pH dependence of charge multipole moments in proteins

open access: yes, 2017
Electrostatic interactions play a fundamental role in the structure and function of proteins. Due to ionizable amino acid residues present on the solvent-exposed surfaces of proteins, the protein charge is not constant but varies with the changes in the ...

Natural Resistance to Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome in Estrildid Finches Reveals Macrophage GPR183 as a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.

Decoding Undesirable Inflammatory Responses of Nucleic Acid‐Delivering Lipid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) enable efficient nucleic acid delivery, but their immunogenicity is a double‐edged sword. This review explores LNP‐driven innate and adaptive immunity, covering lipid components, endosomal escape, and nucleic acid sensing.

PKA regulation of neuronal function requires the dissociation of catalytic subunits from regulatory subunits

open access: yeseLife
Protein kinase A (PKA) plays essential roles in diverse cellular functions. However, the spatiotemporal dynamics of endogenous PKA upon activation remain debated.

T‐Cell Exhaustion in the Tumor Microenvironment: Subcellular Dysfunction, Pan‐Cancer Characteristics, and Therapeutic Interventions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates the mechanisms of subcellular multidimensional collapse in exhausted T cells. By specifically targeting the nucleus, mitochondria, and endoplasmic reticulum, strategic interventions can effectively remodel the compromised organelle network. This integrated approach drives comprehensive T cell resuscitation, ultimately establishing

Spatiotemporal profiling of protein kinase A activity in spontaneously beating hiPSC-derived cardiac organoids

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Protein kinase A (PKA) phosphorylates proteins crucial for rhythm modulation, with its dysregulation linked to arrhythmias. This study investigated PKA activity’s spatiotemporal dynamics in spontaneously beating cardiac organoids.

Oligopeptides/DNA Coacervate Droplets as Macromolecular Delivery Microcarriers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oligopeptide–DNA coacervates formed via liquid–liquid phase separation serve as programmable carriers for macromolecular cargos, entering cells through lipid raft–associated pathways and subsequently undergoing enzyme triggered intracellular disassembly driven by DNA degradation processes, thereby enabling efficient, controlled, and spatially defined ...

The AKAP12-PKA axis regulates lipid homeostasis during alcohol-associated liver disease

open access: yesSignal Transduction and Targeted Therapy
Disrupted lipogenic signaling and steatosis are key features of alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). A-kinase anchoring protein 12 (AKAP12) is a scaffolding partner of the cAMP-dependent protein kinase, PKA that controls its spatiotemporal ...

Tailored Synthesis of Doped Non‐Layered Oxide Nanosheets Using Designed Solid‐State Surfactants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reports a solid‐state surfactant templating method that enables precise doping of non‐layered oxide nanosheets. Using ceria and rare‐earth elements as model systems, we established design principles for solid‐state surfactants containing multiple elements.
