Acid‐Catalyzed Synthesis of Si‐Stereogenic Silanes
Si‐stereogenic silanes are important structural motifs in chemical synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and materials science. However, their catalytic enantioselective synthesis has largely relied on transition‐metal catalysts. Recently, Brønsted acids have been developed as promising alternatives.

PKR activation causes inflammation and MMP-13 secretion in human degenerated articular chondrocytes
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease affecting a large population of people. Although the elevated expression of PKR (double stranded RNA-dependent protein kinase) and MMP-13 (collagenase-3) have been indicated to play pivotal roles in the

On a two variable class of Bernstein-Szego measures
The one variable Bernstein-Szego theory for orthogonal polynomials on the real line is extended to a class of two variable measures. The polynomials orthonormal in the total degree ordering and the lexicographical ordering are constructed and their ...

ORMDL proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) negatively regulate serine palmitoyltransferase (SPT) activity in response to the rate of de novo sphingolipid synthesis. Disruption of ceramide homeostasis by myriocin or fumonisin B1 (FB1) appears to destabilize the ORMDL‐SPT complex, leading to ORMDL degradation as a feedback mechanism.

Double-stranded RNA-dependent protein kinase regulates the motility of breast cancer cells.
Double-stranded RNA (dsRNA)-dependent protein kinase (PKR) is an interferon-induced protein kinase that plays a central role in the anti-viral process.

The interferon-induced double-strand RNA activated protein kinase (PKR) plays important roles in host defense against viral infection. Here we demonstrate the significant antiviral role of PKR against foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) and report that ...
