This chapter explores the multifaceted roles of DNA-PK with particular focus on its functions in non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ) DNA repair. DNA-PK is the primary orchestrator of NHEJ but also regulates other biologic processes. The growing understanding of varied DNA-PK biologic roles highlights new avenues for cancer treatment.

Improvement of Pk-Anonymization
2014 IEEE 33rd International Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems Workshops, 2014Pk-anonymization is a data anonymization method that employs randomization. Pk-anonymization guarantees Pk-anonymity, which is an extension of probabilistic k-anonymity. To implement this method, we assign random noise to records to reduce the probability of identifying record owners to less than 1/k.

Liver pyruvate kinase (PK) isozymes in a PK‐deficient patient*
Annals of Human Genetics, 1968SUMMARYLiver from a patient with hereditary haemolytic anaemia due to pyruvate kinase deficiency is a deficient in the ‘erythrocyte’ PK isozyme as are her erythrocytes. The chromatographic, electrophoretic, antigenic, heat stability and kinetic properties of the patient's enzyme were not different from normal.

AbstractTwo new erythrocyte pyruvate kinase (PK) variants with severe nonspherocytic hemolytic anemia are presented. These cases are both considered to be homozygous because of the consanguineous marriages in their parents. Their erythrocyte PK's were characterized by the recommended methods of the International Committee for Standardization in ...

Determination of pK's of trinucleotides
Biopolymers, 1972AbstractpK's of trinucleotides are calculated according to the theory of Kirkwood and Westheimer for ellipsoids. In order to compare the calculated values with some experimental results, a number of trimers were prepared and their pK's were measured.
