Printing‐Assisted Integration of Thermal, Fluidic and Electrical Components in Implants for Focal Brain Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Extrusion‐based 3D printing of silicones and discrete electronic components are combined to create cortical implants for rodents that integrate thermal neuromodulation and electrical recording. Linked to an autonomous auxiliary driver unit, the system enables rapid, stable and localized hypothermia alongside ECoG recording.

Emergence of Unconventional Magnetic Order in Strain‐Engineered RuO2/TiO2 Superlattices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Epitaxial strain activates unconventional magnetism in rutile RuO2, absent in bulk or relaxed RuO2. Polarized neutron reflectometry with atomic‐layer resolution directly reveals finite magnetization confined to RuO2 layers in fully strained RuO2/TiO2 superlattices on TiO2 (110).

Operando Identification of the Active Phase in Sr‐Promoted Lanthanum Cobaltite Perovskite‐Derived Catalysts for Ammonia Decomposition

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Ammonia decomposition catalyzed by base metals: Exsolution of cobalt from perovskites prepared by spray‐flame synthesis (SFS) yields highly active, SrO‐promoted Co/La2O3 catalysts with low cobalt content. Operando studies provide insight into the function of the promoter. Dynamic surface reconstruction under operating conditions increases the interface

Osmium Nanoparticle Anchoring on CoFe Layered Double Hydroxides Enables High‐Valent Species Stabilization and Efficient Seawater Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Osmium nanoparticles anchored on CoFe layered double hydroxide (Os/CoFe LDH) stabilize high‐valent Co/Fe species and modulate the interfacial water configuration via surface engineering. This work presents a facile surface engineering strategy for constructing efficient and durable OER electrocatalysts for alkaline seawater, and expands the ...

Statistics and Habitability of F-type Star–Planet Systems

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
F-type star–planet systems represent an intriguing case for habitability studies. Although F-type stars spend considerably less time on the main sequence (MS) than G-, K-, and M-type stars, they still offer a unique set of features, allowing for the ...

Gapless Complete Genome and Multi‐Omics Illuminate Immune Adaptation and Host‐Virus Interactions in a Coronavirus Reservoir

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a complete T2T genome assembly for a key bat reservoir. Integrating population genomics, comparative genomics, transcriptomics, single‐cell omics, and functional assays, we resolve previously inaccessible genomic regions and identify evolutionary signatures associated with immune adaptation.

Site Density Governs Switching Reactivity Regimes During Aerobic C─H Oxidation in Mn Single‐Atom Photocatalysts

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Increasing the density of isolated manganese (Mn) atoms in carbon nitride (CNx) photocatalysts does not continuously improve performance. Instead, beyond a critical loading, the polymer support reorganizes, altering charge‐carrier dynamics and oxygen activation while preserving atomic dispersion.

Dependence of Small Planet Frequency on Stellar Metallicity Hidden by Their Prevalence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The dependence of gas giant planet occurrence rate on stellar metallicity has been firmly established. We extend this so-called planet–metallicity correlation to broader ranges of metallicities and planet masses/radii.

Formation‐Stage Interfacial Regulation of δ‐MnO2 Enables Stable and Reversible Aqueous Zn‐Ion Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Precursor‐embedded Fe regulates the nucleation and growth of δ‐MnO2, enabling a more accessible and stable Zn‐storage interface with accelerated kinetics and suppressed Mn dissolution, while preserving the intrinsic Mn redox chemistry. ABSTRACT Layered δ‐MnO2 is a promising cathode for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries, yet its practical application remains ...
