Revising Properties of Planet–Host Binary Systems. IV. The Radius Distribution of Small Planets in Binary Star Systems Is Dependent on Stellar Separation

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Small planets ( R _p ≤ 4 R _⊕ ) are divided into rocky super-Earths and gaseous sub-Neptunes separated by a radius gap, but the mechanisms that produce these distinct planet populations remain unclear. Binary stars are the only main-sequence systems with

Follow-up Observations of Candidate White Dwarf Planets with MIRI

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We report on second-epoch imaging of two candidate planet-hosting white dwarf (WD) stars, WD 2105−82 and WD 1202−232. Both stars showed evidence of resolved, planet-mass candidate companions in observations using the MIRI mid-infrared imager on JWST.

On the age and metallicity of planet-hosting triple star systems

open access: yesAstrophysics and Space Science
We present a statistical analysis of the ages and metallicities of triple stellar systems that are known to host exoplanets. With controversial cases disregarded, so far 27 of those systems have been identified. Our analysis, based on an exploratory approach, shows that those systems are on average notably younger than stars situated in the solar ...

Coordinating Mesopore Geometry and Interfacial Water Dynamics for Iron‐Site Evolution in Nitrate Electroreduction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Mesopore geometry programs the working‐state interface of Fe single sites during nitrate electroreduction. Hexagonal channels reorganize interfacial water and accompany the reversible evolution of isolated Fe─O4‐like sites toward Fe─O─Fe‐like motifs, promoting successive hydrogenation toward NH3 with a Faradaic efficiency of 99.1%.

Stellar rotational periods in the planet hosting open cluster Praesepe

open access: yes, 2014
By using the dense coverage of the extrasolar planet survey project HATNet (Hungarian-made Automated Telescope Network), we Fourier analyse 381 high-probability members of the nearby open cluster Praesepe (Beehive/M44/NGC 2632).

Chemical Abundances of the Bioessential Elements C, O, and S, and the Refractory Elements Fe and Ni, in Solar-type Exoplanet-hosting Stars from HARPS North and South

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We determined atmospheric and evolutionary parameters, along with chemical abundances of C, O, S, Fe, and Ni for 290 solar-type exoplanet-hosting stars using high-resolution HARPS-North and HARPS-South spectra, and radii for 373 exoplanets using ...

A Uniform Determination of the Bulk Metallicities and α Enrichments of Confirmed Exoplanet Systems with TRES

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a uniform spectroscopic characterization of 625 F, G, and K stars hosting 859 confirmed exoplanets using high-resolution archival optical spectra from the Tillinghast Reflector Echelle Spectrograph (TRES).

Rapid Lab‐Based In Situ Monitoring of Germanium Multiple Quantum Wells Interdiffusion

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This study emphasizes important insights into thermally activated diffusion control in Ge/SiGe multiple quantum wells for future design of high‐performance group‐IV optoelectronic devices. A particular fast data acquisition is achieved by in situ X‐ray diffraction and the influence of interdiffusion on the optical properties is presented by ...

Influence of stellar multiplicity on planet formation. IV. Adaptive optics imaging of Kepler stars with multiple transiting planet candidates

open access: yes, 2015
The Kepler mission provides a wealth of multiple transiting planet systems (MTPSs). The formation and evolution of multi-planet systems are likely to be influenced by companion stars given the abundance of multiple stellar systems. We study the influence
