Microscale Patterning of Ultrahigh‐Viscosity Metallic‐Polymer Composites via Embedded Droplet Writing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hybrid additive manufacturing platform integrates direct droplet writing of metallic composite with VAT photopolymerization to fabricate architected soft magnetic composites. This approach enables microscale patterning of high‐viscosity materials for programmable actuators, adaptive fluidic devices, and switchable adhesives, offering tunable ...

Age Analysis of Extrasolar Planets: Insight from Stellar Isochrone Models

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
There is growing evidence from stellar kinematics and galactic chemical evolution suggesting that giant planets ( M _P ≥ 0.3 M _J ) are relatively young compared to the most commonly occurring population of small planets ( M _P < 0.3 M _J ).

Stabilization of Strongly Reduced Fe(I) Single Atom Species Coordinated in a 2D Self‐Assembled Metal–Organic Network

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A graphene‐supported 2D metal–organic network stabilizes highly reactive Fe(I)‐N4 single sites through Co‐induced charge redistribution. Combined experiments and theory reveal Fe(I) formation, oxygen‐driven oxidation, and O2 activation mechanisms, offering a strategy to access low‐valent iron centers relevant to catalytic and biological processes ...

Abundance Pattern Analysis of Planet-hosting and Debris-disk Stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
: About 16 % of the main-sequence solar-like stars are surrounded by dusty debris disks (DD). These disks are the detritus of small bodies collisions and their presence is a very strong signpost of planet formation.

Chemical Abundances Shape History (CASH). I. A Link between Giant Planets' Orbital Periods and Host Stellar C/O Ratios

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
The chemical abundance of host stars plays a pivotal role in shaping the formation history of planetary systems, yet the influence of elements beyond iron remains poorly understood. Here, we investigate the relationship between the carbon-to-oxygen (C/O)

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Interaction of stars hosting planets with Sgr A* black hole [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2019
AbstractWe present some preliminary results of our ongoing project about planetary systems around S-stars in the vicinity of Sgr A* black hole. Since S-stars might have migrated in the Galactic Centre (GC) from elsewhere, they probably still keep their planetary systems throughout their voyage.

Phase‐Engineered MoS2 Quantum Monolayer Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A new type of catalyst model—phase‐engineered MoS2 quantum‐monolayer catalyst (∼0.8 nm thick, < 6 nm in the lateral size; switchable freely among metallic 1T, semiconducting 2H, and a hybrid phase of metallic‐semiconducting 1T‐2H)—is reported. It can efficiently and stably drive photochemical H2, syngas and ammonia synthesis as a catalyst or co ...

Star-planet interactions and selection effects from planet detection methods

open access: yes, 2011
Planets may have effects on their host stars by tidal or magnetic interaction. Such star-planet interactions are thought to enhance the activity level of the host star.
