Effect of crop management and cultivar on colonization of Capsicum annuum L. by Endophytic Fungi
Due to their importance as biological control agents, we analysed the colonization of two pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) cultivars by culturable endophytic fungi in natural sandy soil in the open field and under soil-free conditions in the greenhouse ...

Functional characterization of hexokinases in the moss Physcomitrella patens [PDF]
Carbohydrates are important nutrients and structural components in all living organisms. In plants they affect the developmental and metabolic processes throughout the plant life cycle.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Physiology and biochemistry of waterlogging tolerance in plants
Waterlogging is a serious problem, which affects crop growth and yield in low lying rainfed areas. The main cause of damage under waterlogging is oxygen deprivation, which affect nutrient and water uptake, so the plants show wilting even when surrounded by excess of water.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Transcriptome analysis of Azospirillum lipoferum during its interaction with rice [PDF]
The associative symbiosis between Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria of the genus Azospirillum and cereals have mainly been studied from an agronomic and economic point of view, and several studies showed that plant morphological and metabolic changes ...
