Effects of Solution, Soil and Sand Cultures on Nodulation and Growth of Phasey Bean [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
Plants of phasey bean (Macroptilium lathyroides cv. Murray) were grown in nitrogen-free nutrient solution, sod, or sand culture in a naturally-Nt glasshouse. Nodulation, dry matter accumulation in plant parts, and seed yields were assessed. Partitioning

A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

Organic Aquaculture - From Niche to growing Business [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The experiments showed, that the substitutions of fish meal by the matrix of plant protein koncentrates (pea, horse bean and rape) did not have significant effekces on the growth of the trout as well as on fish health.

Therapeutic applications of a novel humanized monoclonal antibody targeting chemokine receptor CCR9 in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
C–C chemokine receptor type 9 (CCR9) is an immune checkpoint in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Novel anti‐CCR9 antibody SRB2 was evaluated in combination with cytotoxic chemotherapy in PDAC cells, patient‐derived organoids, patient‐derived xenografts, and humanized mouse models.

Use of meta-Topolin, an unconventional cytokinin in the in vitro multiplication of Opuntia stricta Haw.

open access: yesBiotecnología Vegetal, 2019
The erect prickly pear (Opuntia stricta Haw) is an important alternative used to feed ruminants during prolonged periods of drought. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of different types and concentrations of cytokinins on the ...

Characterization of the Water Soluble Component of Inedible Residue from Candidate CELSS Crops [PDF]

open access: yes
Recycling of inorganic nutrients required for plant growth will be a necessary component of a fully closed, bioregenerative life support system. This research characterized the recovery of plant nutrients from the inedible fraction of three crop types ...

Plant Tissue Culture in a Bag

open access: yesThe American Biology Teacher, 2000
This article describes the use of an oven bag as a sterile chamber for culture initiation and tissue transfer. Plant tissue culture is an ideal tool for introducing students to plants, cloning and experimental design. Many of the problems previously encountered, such as obtaining nutrient media and equipment, have been solved by various scientific ...

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.
