Classification of acute myeloid leukemia based on multi‐omics and prognosis prediction value

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Unsupervised AML Multi‐Omics Classification System (UAMOCS) integrates genomic, methylation, and transcriptomic data to categorize AML patients into three subtypes (UAMOCS1‐3). This classification reveals clinical relevance, highlighting immune and chromosomal characteristics, prognosis, and therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Populations of Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) cause significant damage to genetically modified corn crops

open access: yesRevista Facultad Nacional de Agronomía Medellín, 2019
The fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith)) is an important harmful pest for corn crops in Colombia. Knowing its population’s fluctuation regarding genetically modified plants allows the implementation of monitoring plans and time-effective ...

Biogenic magnetic nanoparticles in plants [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The genetic programming of biosynthesis of biogenic magnetic nanoparticles (BMNs) in plants was revealed by methods of comparative genomics. The samples of leaves and the root of Nicotiana tabacum, the stems and tubers of Solanum tuberosum and the stems of pea Pisum sativum were examined by scanning probe microscopy (in atomic force and magnetic power ...

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Performance Evalution of 3D Keypoint Detectors and Descriptors for Plants Health Classification [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Plant Phenomics based on imaging based techniques can be used to monitor the health and the diseases of plants and crops. The use of 3D data for plant phenomics is a recent phenomenon. However, since 3D point cloud contains more information than plant images, in this paper, we compare the performance of different keypoint detectors and local feature ...

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

Integrating optimization with thermodynamics and plant physiology for crop ideotype design [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
A computational framework integrating optimization algorithms, parallel computing and plant physiology was developed to explore crop ideotype design. The backbone of the framework is a plant physiology model that accurately tracks water use (i.e. a plant hydraulic model) coupled with mass transport (CO2 exchange and transport), energy conversion (leaf ...

Study on the Implications of Asynchronous GMO Approvals for EU Imports of Animal Feed Products [PDF]

open access: yes
The aim of this study is to understand the implications of asynchronous approvals for genetically modified organisms (GMOs) that are imported to the European Union for use within animal feed products, specifically with regard to the EU livestock sector ...
