Production of MgO/TiC Composites From MgO‐C Recyclates Using Spark Plasma Sintering

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Using the spark plasma sintering technique, MgO/TiC composites are manufactured from recycled MgO‐C refractories stemming from the steel production that were mixed with titanium powder. This article shows, how the size of the Ti grains and their distribution in the powder mixture affect the local carbon concentration in TiC.

Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...

Influence of plasma-chemical etching on the surface structure of silicon wafers for photovoltaic converters

open access: yesТехнологія та конструювання в електронній апаратурі, 2006
The results of plasma-chemical etching (PCE) of the surface of photovoltaic converter (PVC) wafers, pre-structured by chemical etching, are presented. PCE was carried out in a plasma-chemical reactor using a mixture of sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆) and 10 ...

Plug flow reactor model of the plasma chemical conversion of CO2

open access: yesPlasma Sources Science and Technology, 2019
Abstract A 1D plug flow model suitable for describing the CO2 conversion into CO in microwave plasma reactors is proposed. The model is applied together with the Antwerp data set for the CO2 reaction kinetics to calculate parameter scans for a realistic experimental set up.

Introduction of functional groups on polyethylene surfaces by a carbon dioxide plasma treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Poly(ethylene) (PE) films were treated with a carbon dioxide (CO2) plasma to study the formation of oxygen-containing functional groups at the surface. Modified and nonmodified films were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and water ...
