Bayesian modelling of multiple plasma diagnostics at Wendelstein 7-X

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
Inference of electron density and temperature has been performed using multiple, diverse sets of plasma diagnostic data at Wendelstein 7-X. Predictive models for the interferometer, Thomson scattering and helium beam emission spectroscopy (He-BES ...

Cross Sections for Electron Impact Excitation of O VI Lines

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2011
Radiative atomic data and electron impact excitation cross sections for the 2s-2p transitions in O VI for transitions among the fine structure levels belonging to the 1s2nl (2 ≤ n ≤ 5) configurations have been calculated.

Investigation of Nonthermal Plasma Jet Excitation Mode and Optical Assessment of Its Electron Concentration

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
The results of a study of a plasma jet of atmospheric-pressure helium driven by a capacitive discharge using sine and pulsed modes of excitation are presented. The homogeneous discharge of a multi-channel plasma jet at gas temperature of 34 °C and helium

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Revisiting He-like X-ray Emission Line Plasma Diagnostics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A complete model of helium-like line and continuum emission has been incorporated into the plasma simulation code Cloudy. All elements between He and Zn are treated, any number of levels can be considered, and radiative and collisional processes are ...

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Statistical features of edge turbulence in RFX-mod from Gas Puffing Imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Plasma density fluctuations in the edge plasma of the RFX-mod device are measured through the Gas Puffing Imaging Diagnostics. Statistical features of the signal are quantified in terms of the Probability Distribution Function (PDF), and computed for ...

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Wavelength-selective, sequential Q-switching laser cavity [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Single-frequency continuous output of laser is converted into series of high-power laser pulses at high repetition rates. Applications include pollutant detection by absorption, laser gain measurements at discrete wavelengths, laser propagation ...
