Martensite transformation induced by plasma nitrocarburizing on AISI304 austenitic stainless steel
Vacuum, 2014Abstract In this paper, martensite transformation induced by plasma nitrocarburizing in AISI304 austenitic stainless steel is investigated. The optical micrographs and XRD results indicate the dual-layer structure of the nitrocarburized layer: the outer martensite transformation layer and the inner C supersaturated austenite layer.

Anodic Plasma Electrolytic Nitrocarburizing of VT22 Titanium Alloy in Carbamide Electrolyte
Journal of Surface Investigation: X-ray, Synchrotron and Neutron Techniques, 2018The influence of the carbamide concentration on the nitrocarburizing temperature and changes in the mass of titanium samples, which are related to the anodic dissolution and high-temperature oxidation of titanium in a vapor‒gas shell, is investigated.

Fundamentals and applications of the combination of plasma nitrocarburizing and oxidizing
Surface and Coatings Technology, 1998With the so-called IONIT®OX process, a combined plasma nitrocarburizing and oxidizing, iron based materials, especially non-alloyed steel, had been treated. It is shown that the oxidation of the nitrocarburized layers lead to a significant improvement of the corrosion resistance.

Effect of plasma nitrocarburizing on fatigue behaviour of AISI 1020 steel
2008AISI 1020 steel was plasma nitrocarburized under different process parameters regarding time (1, 4 and 12 h), temperature (500, 570 and 640 degrees C) and different CO2 ratio. The fatigue strength of plasma nitrocarburized AISI 1020 steel has been assessed by using a rotating bending fatigue machine and observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM ...
