Metrics and extrapolation of resonant magnetic perturbation thresholds for ELM suppression

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
This large database study of resonant magnetic perturbation (RMP) edge localized mode (ELM) suppression thresholds in the AUG, DIII-D, EAST, and KSTAR tokamaks details the key strengths and weaknesses of RMP metrics. The RMP ELM suppression database used

High-precision control of microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti–6Al–4V thin-walled titanium alloy components by laser peening without coating

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
In this paper, the stress distribution and evolution of LPwC and LSP in thin-walled model are compared by simulation. The mechanical properties and microstructure changes of LPwCed TC4 titanium alloy thin-walled components were further analyzed by ...

Vascular Responses to Plasma Hypoosmolality in Man

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1975
To study limb vascular responses to plasma hypoosmolality in man, we infused test solutions of hypoosmolar NaCl (145 mOsm/kg) and control solutions of isosmolar NaCl (290 mOsm/kg) into the brachial arteries of 14 mornotensive and 13 essential hypertensive patients. Limb blood pressures were monitored, limb blood flow was measured by indicator-dilution,

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Effects of plasma squareness on RMP response in MAST-U

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
The effect of the squareness of the plasma boundary shape on the plasma response to the applied n  = 2 ( n is the toroidal mode number) resonant magnetic perturbation, and consequently on controlling the edge-localized mode (ELM) in MAST-U in the double ...

Improving tension fatigue performance of gray cast iron by LSPwC-induced gradient structure and carbon diffusion

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
HT250 Gray cast iron (GCI) commonly utilized in diesel engine cylinders, is susceptible to fatigue failure under alternating stress conditions. To address this issue, the investigation involved the application of laser shock peening without coating ...

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Response of a relativistically streaming pulsar plasma

open access: yesJournal of Plasma Physics
The response tensor is derived for a relativistically streaming, strongly magnetized, one-dimensional Jüttner distribution of electrons and positrons, referred to as a pulsar plasma. This is used to produce a general treatment of wave dispersion in a pulsar plasma.
