3D MXene Aerogel Frameworks With In Situ‐Grown BiFeO3 for Synergistically Enhanced Thermoelectric Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A lightweight, 3D MXene aerogel framework integrated with bismuth ferrite was developed to efficiently harvest waste heat. By growing the oxide directly onto the porous aerogel, the composite achieves strong interfacial connections. This unique architecture simultaneously boosts electrical power generation and blocks heat flow, resulting in an ...

A comparison of methods for plate waste determinations

Journal of the American Dietetic Association, 1985
Plate waste studies have traditionally been used to evaluate behavior change in nutrition education programs. Identical menus are served both before and after the implementation of curriculum. Theoretically, students will internalize nutrition information, and there will be less waste in the post-test phase.

MEASURING PLATE WASTE IN HOSPITALS

Nutrition & Dietetics, 2012
It has been suggested that the median plate wastage in hospitals is approximately 30% (range of 6–65%). The level of hospital food wastage is influenced by numerous parameters, including the menu, the setting, diet type, the type of food service distribution system used and its flexibility.

Plate waste producing situations on nursing wards

International Journal of Nursing Studies, 1991
This study examines the existence of a positive correlation of interferences during mealtime and the amount of plate waste. Textbooks prescribe a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. With an exploratory research design, data about the patient, his environment and plate waste were collected on a medical unit of an academic teaching hospital.

Of Waste and Waists: The Effect of Plate Material on Food Consumption and Waste

Journal of the Association for Consumer Research, 2016
AbstractTwo lab studies and three field studies indicate that plate disposability influences the amount of food wasted. The first lab study indicates that more food served on disposable (i.e., paper) plates is wasted than when the same food is served on permanent (i.e., hard plastic) plates. Study 2 employs an implicit association test (IAT) to confirm

The recycling of hazardous metal plating wastes

JOM, 1991
During electroplating operations, metal-rich sludges are generated which have been classified as hazardous by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Despite a regulatory situation which sometimes hampers rather than assists recycling efforts, these plating wastes, designated F006, can be viewed as a natural resource if properly handled ...
