Platelet‐derived growth factor in asthma
Allergy, 1995Platelet‐derived growth factor (PDGF) controls cellular growth, migration, and differentiation. It is secreted by various cell types, including macrophages, and participates in tissue repair and epithelial regeneration. PDGF may therefore be involved in airway remodeling in asthma.

Platelet-derived growth factor prevents G0 growth arrest
Nature, 1979Baserga1 has summarised evidence that there are two growth states in which cells have a diploid content of DNA; G1—the interval between mitosis and S phase in exponentially growing cultures—and G0, a quiescent state entered only when conditions for growth are suboptimal.

The platelet-derived growth factor system
1989Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is a potent mitogen for mesenchymal cells in culture. PDGF was first recognized as a regulator of mesenchymal cell proliferation in the setting of vascular injury and wound healing [1,2]. It has become clear, however, that PDGF and its receptors (the PDGF system) play equally important roles in normal developmental

Platelet-derived growth factor.
Clinics in endocrinology and metabolism, 1984Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is a basic (pI congruent to 10) 30 000 molecular weight protein circulating in normal blood sequestered within the platelet alpha-granules. It binds with high affinity (Kd = 10(-11) M) to a specific cell-surface receptor found on many connective tissue cell types in culture.
