The purification and characterization of six isoforms of ornatin, potent glycoprotein IIb-IIIa (GP IIb-IIIa) antagonists and platelet aggregation inhibitors are described. These isoforms were purified from whole leech homogenates of the leech Placobdella

A continuum model for the unfolding of von Willebrand Factor [PDF]
von Willebrand Factor is a mechano-sensitive protein circulating in blood that mediates platelet adhesion to subendothelial collagen and platelet aggregation at high shear rates. Its hemostatic function and thrombogenic effect, as well as susceptibility to enzymatic cleavage, are regulated by a conformational change from a collapsed globular state to a

Use of ultrasound attenuation spectroscopy to determine the size distribution of clay tactoids in aqueous suspensions [PDF]
The dispersion processes of aqueous samples of clay are studied using ultrasound attenuation spectroscopy. The attenuation spectra that are acquired in the frequency range $10-100$ MHz are used to determine the particle size distributions (PSDs) for different concentrations and ages of the clay suspensions.

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

Comprehensive Approach to Developing Baseline Reference Ranges for Platelet Function
Background. Thrombocytopathies are topical issues of pediatrics. Platelet dysfunction clinically manifests as thrombotic and hemorrhagic events of various severity and location. Platelet function can be evaluated via aggregatometry.
