Enhanced Switching Performance in Single‐Crystalline PbTiO3 Ferroelectric Memristors for Replicating Synaptic Plasticity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrated single‐crystalline PbTiO3‐based memristors with atomically sharp interfaces, well‐ordered lattices, and minimal lattice mismatch. The devices exhibited an ON/OFF ratio exceeding 105, high stability, and rich resistance‐state modulation.

Lagrangian measurements of turbulent dissipation over a shallow tidal flat from pulse coherent Acoustic Doppler Profilers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present high resolution (25 mm spatial, 8 Hz temporal) profiles of velocity measured over a shallow tidal flat using pulse-coherent Acoustic Doppler Profilers mounted on surface drifters.

Lithium‐Ion/Lithium Metal Hybrid Batteries Enabled by Lithio‐Amphiphilic Bilayer Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lithium‐ion/Lithium metal hybrid batteries couple intercalation and plating mechanisms, yet are plagued by lithium dendrite formation. Here, a lithio‐amphiphilic bilayer comprising silver (Ag)/chromium(Cr) thin films is sequentially deposited on the graphite anode.

Morphology, dynamics and plasma parameters of plumes and inter-plume regions in solar coronal holes

open access: yes, 2011
Coronal plumes, which extend from solar coronal holes (CH) into the high corona and - possibly - into the solar wind (SW), can now continuously be studied with modern telescopes and spectrometers on spacecraft, in addition to investigations from the ...

Coronal Polar Plumes.

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 1967
The purpose of this investigation was to determine what connection exists between coronal plumes and polar surface features. To this end the properties of plumes were re-examined by making a detailed statistical analysis of photographs of three eclipses (1962, 1963, and 1965) of the last sunspot minimum.

Functional Materials for Environmental Energy Harvesting in Smart Agriculture via Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores functional and responsive materials for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in sustainable smart agriculture. It examines how particulate contamination and dirt affect charge transfer and efficiency. Environmental challenges and strategies to enhance durability and responsiveness are outlined, including active functional layers ...

Engineered Interface and Spatial Arrangement of Inorganic Components for Dendrite‐Free Li Anodes in Carbonate‐Based Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A solid‐state ion exchange strategy constructs dentrimental Li2CO3 into a high‐modulus, high‐surface‐energy interface to enable dendrite‐free deposition of Li metal anode in the harsh carbonate‐based electrolyte. Abstract The practical application of lithium metal batteries (LMBs) in carbonate‐based electrolytes is hindered by uncontrolled lithium (Li)

Anomalously thin transition zone and apparently isotropic upper mantle beneath Bermuda: Evidence for upwelling

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2013
The origin of the Bermuda swell and volcanism remains enigmatic. The lack of an associated time‐progressive hotspot track and absence of present‐day volcanic activity make it difficult to reconcile with a deep mantle plume model.

Impact of Heat Generation on Magneto-Nanofluid Free Convection Flow about Sphere in the Plume Region

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
The main aim of the current study is to analyze the physical phenomenon of free convection nanofluids heat transfer along a sphere and fluid eruption through boundary layer into a plume region above the surface of the sphere.
