Interaction between bacteriophage PM2 protein IV and DNA
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1979Abstract The interaction between DNA and the structural protein IV of bacteriophage PM2 was studied by co-sedimentation, filter binding and electron microscopy. The co-sedimentation data and the sigmoid-shaped filter binding curve were interpreted in terms of co-operative binding. At a given DNA/protein input ratio, some DNA molecules were associated

Catenanes of closed circular intracellular PM2 phage DNA
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Nucleic Acids and Protein Synthesis, 1974Abstract The closed circular intracellular DNA isolated from Pseudomonas BAL 31 20 min after infection with PM2 phage contains 5% catenated forms. The existence of catenated dimers is demonstrated by isolation of this species as a middle band in a propidium iodide—CsCl gradient, by electron microscopy and by sedimentation studies.

Uncoiling of bacteriophage PM2 DNA by binding of steroidal diamines
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Nucleic Acids and Protein Synthesis, 1972Abstract Binding of irehdiamine A to closed circular duplex PM2 DNA results in removal and reversal of the supercoiling in a fashion qualitatively similar to that seen with intercalating drugs. The irehdiamine A-induced uncoiling has been measured in two buffers where the binding constants are known. Comparison with the effects of ethidium bromide in

Further observations on the structure of the lipid-containing bacteriophage PM2
Nature, 1974RECENT work on the proteins of bacteriophage PM2 have led us to a model for the structure of this virus, proposed in this communication. Experimental results have enabled us to assign each of the four proteins1 to morphological structures of the virus revealed by electron microscopic and structural studies.

[Photoinactivation of bacteriophage PM2 by cyanine dyes].
Biofizika, 2001Photoinactivation of the lipid-containing bacteriophage PM2 by visible light and cyanine dyes (carbo- and dicarbocyanines), aluminum phtalocyanine tetrasulfonate and methylene blue was studied. It was concluded that cyanine dye aggregates adsorbed on phage particles and oxygen are essential for phage photoinactivation.

[Inactivation of bacteriophage PM2 during storage].
Molekuliarnaia genetika, mikrobiologiia i virusologiia, 1990The kinetics of bacteriophage inactivation in the medium that is optimal for its storage has been studied at temperatures from 4 to 55 degrees C. The plot of Arrhenius dependence of the constant of inactivation rate consists of the two linear parts with the energies of activation Ea = 25 kcal/mol for 4-37 degrees C and Ea = 91 kcal/mol for 37-55 ...
