Effect of Dental Care Products on Latex‐Free Orthodontic Elastomeric Chains: A Comparative Analysis of Mechanical, Surface, and Thermal Properties

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 6, June 2026.
Elastomers are essential in orthodontic therapy, but their force degrades over time. This study evaluates the effects of toothpastes and mouthwashes on elastic chains. GH Short shows the least degradation, while Curasept fluoride‐free mouthwash has the most harmful effect.

Targeting Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus Spike Fusion Machinery With Antiviral Peptides: In Silico Exploration of the Heptad Repeat 2 Domain

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
Griffithsin, Brevinin‐2, and CCL20 were identified as potent MERS‐CoV fusion inhibitor candidates targeting the HR2 domain through integrated molecular docking, MD simulations, and MM/PBSA analyses. These peptides demonstrated superior binding stability and favorable safety profiles compared to the standard inhibitor, supporting their potential as ...

Exploring the Mechanism of Alyteserin‐1c in Gram‐Positive and Gram‐Negative Bacterial Membrane Models Using a Computational Approach

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
Alyteserin‐1c hexamer was investigated in biomimetic Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative membrane models using all‐atom molecular dynamics simulations to understand its membrane disruption behavior. The hexamer remained structurally stable in both membrane environments, with hydrophobic inter‐monomer interactions maintaining oligomer integrity while ...

Assessing Moisture Content of Coolstored Blueberries During Water Loss Scenarios Using Hyperspectral Imaging

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Crop and Horticultural Science, Volume 54, Issue 2, June 2026.
Water loss is a key factor affecting the postharvest quality and shelf life of blueberries, and storage conditions (humidity and time) play an important role in regulating water retention capacity of stored berries. This study aims to explore the variation of moisture content (MC) in blueberries under different storage humidity and storage time ...
