Thermodynamic Studies on PNA and PNA/DNA Dendrimer Formation
Nucleosides, Nucleotides & Nucleic Acids, 2007In this work we report a kinetic and thermodynamic study relative to the formation of gel systems based on PNA and PNA/DNA dendrimers, useful for drug delivery or diagnostic applications. We realized two kinds of systems: a PNA-based monomolecular system formed by an autoassembling PNA tridendron (A) and a PNA/DNA bimolecular system based on a PNA ...

Solid-Phase Synthesis of Cyclic PNA and PNA−DNA Chimeras
Organic Letters, 2006[structure: see text] A new and versatile on-line automated solid-phase approach to obtain cyclic PNA (I and III) and cyclic PNA-DNA chimeras (II) in highly pure form has been developed. Starting from a Tentagel matrix functionalized with a 3-chloro-4-hydroxyphenylacetic linker, the synthesis of representative, new cyclic molecules by standard peptide ...

Density-functional calculations on DNA–DNA, PNA–DNA and PNA–PNA double strands
Chemical Physics Letters, 2006Abstract Electronic properties of hybridized B-form DNA–DNA, PNA–DNA and PNA–PNA double strands with common base sequences were theoretically investigated by molecular orbital calculations based on the density functional theory. The computed hybridization energy in PNA–DNA is greater by about 5 kcal/mol than that in the DNA–DNA double strand.

Journal of Microbiological Methods, 2002
The acceptance of rRNA sequence diversity as a criterion for phylogenetic discrimination heralds the transition from microbiological identification methods based on phenotypic markers to assays employing molecular techniques. Robust amplification assays and sensitive direct detection methods are rapidly becoming the standard protocols of microbiology ...

PNA-encoded chemical libraries
Current Opinion in Chemical Biology, 2015Peptide nucleic acid (PNA)-encoded chemical libraries along with DNA-encoded libraries have provided a powerful new paradigm for library synthesis and ligand discovery. PNA-encoding stands out for its compatibility with standard solid phase synthesis and the technology has been used to prepare libraries of peptides, heterocycles and glycoconjugates ...

Synthesis of Pyrrolidinone PNA: A Novel Conformationally Restricted PNA Analogue
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2001To preorganize PNA for duplex formation, a new cyclic pyrrolidinone PNA analogue has been designed. In this analogue the aminoethylglycine backbone and the methylenecarbonyl linker are connected, introducing two chiral centers compared to PNA. The four stereoisomers of the adenine analogue were synthesized, and the hybridization properties of PNA ...

CONSTRAINED FLEXIBILITY IN PNA: DNA BINDING STUDIES WITH BRIDGED AMINOPROPYLGLYCYL PNA
Nucleosides, Nucleotides and Nucleic Acids, 2001Introduction of methylene bridges in aegPNA and apgPNA molecules give rise to cyclic five and six membered ring structures. Synthesis of a new six membered cyclic PNA monomer, aminopipecolyl PNA (pipPNA) is reported. Incorporation of pipPNA into PNA oligomers and comparative binding with target DNA sequences is studied.
