Thermal melting studies with PNA and PNA-DNA chimera
Tetrahedron Letters, 1999Abstract We have performed thermal melting studies toward developing an empirical formula for PNA-DNA duplexes. Our results indicate the identity and sequence of the junction between the phosphodiester and 2-aminoethylglycine backbones are critical to the overall stability of the duplex and an important design consideration.

This chapter will compare and contrast the properties and applications of two leading antisense molecules, Peptide Nucleic Acids (PNAs)1,2 and Morpholinos3,4. Where appropriate, I discuss the compelling advantages which these two advanced ‘blocker’ types provide relative to ‘modifier’ types of antisense molecules.
