Pneumatic conveying is the transportation of bulk solids in enclosed pipelines via a carrier gas, typically air. The local flow pattern in a pipeline is a function of the conditions, and slug flow can form under certain conditions. Slug flow is a naturally occurring, wave-like flow where the bulk material travels along the pipeline in distinct `slugs'.

Pneumatization in Otosclerosis
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1999In this study, degrees of mastoid pneumatization in otosclerotic and normal patients were compared on CT scan and plain X-rays. This study was prospective, conducted on inpatients and outpatients at a large community hospital. Patients were consecutively evaluated with no sex or age predilection.

AbstractObjectives To present unusual computed tomography (CT) findings concerning huge pneumatization of turbinates and paranasal sinuses in one patient. In current world literature the authors only found nine reports of pneumatization of inferior turbinates, which, therefore, must be considered an extremely rare anatomical finding.Study Design Case ...

CHARACTERIZATION OF PNEUMATIC RETINOPEXY FAILURES AND THE PNEUMATIC PUMP
Retina, 2014We review a three-year series of cases with pneumatic retinopexy (PR), specifically evaluating failures and suggesting a new mechanism of failure. One hundred and thirty-five consecutive patients who underwent PR for rhegmatogenous retinal detachments were included. The primary outcome measure was the characteristics of PR failures.

Pneumatics and Electro-pneumatic Control Laboratory
2010 International Conference on e-Education, e-Business, e-Management and e-Learning, 2010Production system pneumatics control laboratory serve for teaching automatic control principles and programming in flexible production via various control modes often used in the technical practice. In this laboratory there are applied real elements of control systems.

Pneumatic retinopexy, a term introduced by Hilton in 1985, describes a recently revised and modified operation used for primary rhegmatogenous retinal reattachment. A gas bubble is injected into the vitreous cavity and the patient positioned so that the bubble closes the retinal break, permitting resorption of subretinal fluid. A chorioretinal adhesion

The rehabilitation of the amputee has always challenged the ability of the surgeon, the ingenuity of the limb maker, and the social imagination of the public spirited citizen. Only their collaboration can eliminate the stigma of defect and restore the patient's capacity for gainful employment. The amputee is faced by a triple threat. First, the obvious
