We modeled substrate interactions in NAGLU′s active site and predicted allosteric sites. Virtual screening against a human‐tested molecule database identified potential pharmacological chaperones (PCs). In vitro evaluations confirmed their binding to NAGLU and ability to restore enzymatic activity in MPS IIIB fibroblasts with mutant enzymes.

Our findings suggest that the use of granulocyte colony‐stimulating factors increases the incidence of drug‐induced pneumonitis in patients with diffuse large cell lymphoma and follicular lymphoma receiving R‐CHOP‐type treatment. Abstract Background Rituximab‐based combinations are the standard of care in diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and ...

PRIMACENES: novel non-cytotoxic primaquine-ferrocene conjugates with anti-Pneumocystis carinii activity [PDF]
Primacenes, novel ferrocene-primaquine conjugates, were synthesized and screened for their antimalarial and anti-pneumocystis activity. Primacenes obtained by coupling primaquine amino acid derivatives to ferrocenoic acid were significantly active ...

Isolation of the Pneumocystis carinii dihydrofolate synthase gene and functional complementation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae [PDF]
The Pneumocystis carinii gene encoding the enzyme dihydrofolate synthase (DHFS), which is involved in the essential biosynthesis of folates, was isolated from clones of the Pneumocystis genome project, and sequenced. The deduced P.
