Molecular Clocks in Translational Roadmap for Circadian‐Based Therapeutics in Lung Diseases

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 10, 31 May 2026.
High‐amplitude circadian oscillations maintain lung immune and epithelial homeostasis. Chronic inflammation dampens peripheral clock amplitude, driving chronodisruption, barrier dysfunction, and remodeling. Clock‐targeted therapies re‐entrain the lung circadian clock, restore rhythmic immune resolution, and promote functional lung repair.

Occult pneumococcal septicemia and pneumococcal pneumonia complicating pneumatoceles in a previously healthy child

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Pediatrics, 1998
Fulminating pneumococcal septicemia without an obvious focus of infection is very rare in previously immunocompetent children older than two years. Furthermore, pneumatocele formation in pneumococcal pneumonia is uncommon.

Prevalence of pneumococcal carriage and risk factors for pneumonia and carriage among under-5 children in Malaysia: findings from the MY-Pneumo study

open access: yesPneumonia
Background Paediatric pneumonia remains a significant public health concern globally, and the risk factors for pneumonia and carriage vary across different populations. The accuracy of pneumococcal urinary antigen test (PUAT) remains unclear. We aimed to

Association between respiratory syncytial virus activity and pneumococcal disease in infants: a time series analysis of US hospitalization data.

open access: yesPLoS Medicine, 2015
BackgroundThe importance of bacterial infections following respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) remains unclear. We evaluated whether variations in RSV epidemic timing and magnitude are associated with variations in pneumococcal disease epidemics and ...

Efficacy of conjugate vaccines in pneumococcal infection prevention

open access: yesЖурнал инфектологии, 2014
The problem of pneumococcal infection is actual for many countries of the world in connection with high incidence and mortality. Vaccination by the 7-valent conjugated pneumococcal vaccine of children till 2 years is available in Russia since 2009, 13 ...
