mixFOCuS: A Communication‐Efficient Online Changepoint Detection Method in Distributed System for Mixed‐Type Data

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With the advent of the Internet of Things, it is increasingly common to have large networks of sensors, where each sensor may collect different types of data, has limited local computing resources and the ability to transmit data to a central cloud. Detecting events that trigger changes in sensor data properties is a key concern.

Time‐Varying Dispersion Integer‐Valued GARCH Models

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We introduce a general class of INteger‐valued Generalized AutoRegressive Conditionally Heteroscedastic (INGARCH) processes by allowing simultaneously time‐varying mean and dispersion parameters. We call such models time‐varying dispersion INGARCH (tv‐DINGARCH) models.

Therapeutic Strategies and Clinical Outcomes of Infections Following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction: A Narrative Review

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
ACL reconstruction‐associated infections threaten graft integrity and joint function. This review summarizes patient‐related risk factors, approaches, and treatment strategies, with emphasis on early recognition and preventive measures such as vancomycin presoaking.

Searching for the ‘X’ factor: investigating the genetics of primary ovarian insufficiency

open access: yesJournal of Ovarian Research
Primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) is the cessation of ovarian function before the age of 40. The causes of POI are heterogeneous, but substantial evidence exists to support a genetic basis of POI, particularly in the critical involvement of genes on ...

The Surprising Bias of PPML Estimates of Structural Gravity Models With Two‐Way Fixed Effects

open access: yesReview of International Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The previous literature has shown that the Poisson Pseudo‐Maximum Likelihood (PPML) estimator provides consistent and asymptotically unbiased estimates of the parameters of structural gravity models with two‐way fixed effects, although their standard errors need correction.

Carotid artery dissection linked to intermittent apnoeic swimming: A case–control study

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Internal carotid artery (ICA) dissection is a rare and potentially devastating cause of cerebral ischaemia, initiated by an intimal tear or rupture of the vasa vasorum, that can lead to an intraluminal thrombus, vascular stenosis, occlusion, or dissecting aneurysm formation.
