Experimental measurement of the isolated magnetic susceptibility

open access: yes, 2021
The isolated susceptibility may be defined as a (nonthermodynamic) average over the canonical ensemble, but while it has often been discussed in the literature, it has not been clearly measured.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Gendered Species of Yoruba Plants: An Ecofeminist Perspective

open access: yesYoruba Studies Review, 2023
The phenomena of female and male collaboration or concurrence towards making a positive and progressive impact in most environmental situations in Yorùbá land cannot be over-emphasized. From published works of Yorùbá literature and other oral data, such

Using the PROSA Method in Offshore Wind Farm Location Problems

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
Wind is the most used renewable energy source (RES) in the European Union and Poland. Due to the legal changes in the scope of RES in Poland, there are plans to develop offshore wind farms at the expense of onshore ones. On the other hand, the success of

Entanglement universality of two-qubit X-states [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We demonstrate that for every two-qubit state there is a X-counterpart, i.e., a corresponding two-qubit X-state of same spectrum and entanglement, as measured by concurrence, negativity or relative entropy of entanglement. By parametrizing the set of two-

ESR1 methylation and ESR1 mutations in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and paired plasma‐cfDNA of advanced breast cancer patients: A feasibility proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...

Relational concurrency, stages of infection, and the evolution of HIV set point viral load [PDF]

open access: yesVirus Evolution, 2018
HIV viral load (VL) predicts both transmission potential and rate of disease progression. For reasons that are still not fully understood, the set point viral load (SPVL) established after acute infection varies across individuals and populations.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Immunological features in anti-U1-ribonucleoprotein antibody positive patients with systemic scleroderma

open access: yesСовременная ревматология, 2020
In anti-U1-ribonucleoprotein (anti-U1-RNP) antibody positive patients with systemic scleroderma (SSD), the clinical picture and course of the disease have specific features: there is a preponderance of its limited form; inflammatory damage to the joints ...
