Comparison of Polar Decoders with Existing Low-Density Parity-Check and Turbo Decoders
Polar codes are a recently proposed family of provably capacity-achieving error-correction codes that received a lot of attention. While their theoretical properties render them interesting, their practicality compared to other types of codes has not ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Polar symplectic representations
We study polar representations in the sense of Dadok and Kac which are symplectic. We show that such representations are coisotropic and use this fact to give a classification.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for Real-Time Vegetation Monitoring in Antarctica: A Review
The unique challenges of polar ecosystems, coupled with the necessity for high-precision data, make Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) an ideal tool for vegetation monitoring and conservation studies in Antarctica.

Joint Source-Channel Decoding of Polar Codes for Language-Based Source
We exploit the redundancy of the language-based source to help polar decoding. By judging the validity of decoded words in the decoded sequence with the help of a dictionary, the polar list decoder constantly detects erroneous paths after every few bits ...

A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Time‐lapse cameras reveal latitude and season influence breeding phenology durations in penguins
Variation in the phenology of avian taxa has long been studied to understand how a species reacts to environmental changes over both space and time. Penguins (Sphenicidae) serve as an important example of how biotic and abiotic factors influence certain ...
