On the origin of multidecadal to centennial Greenland temperature anomalies over the past 800 yr [PDF]
The surface temperature of the Greenland ice sheet is among the most important climate variables for assessing how climate change may impact human societies due to its association with sea level rise.

Polarization squeezing in degenerate parametric amplification of coherent light [PDF]
We study polarization squeezing of a light beam initially in the coherent state using the nonlinear interaction Hamiltonian [Formula: see text]. For the degree of polarization squeezing, we use a definition written in the final form by the authors and also used in earlier papers.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Increasing live birth rate by preimplantation genetic screening of pooled polar bodies using array comparative genomic hybridization. [PDF]
Meiotic errors during oocyte maturation are considered the major contributors to embryonic aneuploidy and failures in human IVF treatment. Various technologies have been developed to screen polar bodies, blastomeres and trophectoderm cells for ...

Amplification and polarization of supernovae by gravitational lensing
The gravitational lensing of supernovae by individual masses which could comprise the dark matter is analyzed. Detailed predictions of the amplification and polarization are presented, including effects of a galactic environment. Their time dependence is produced by the expansion of the supernovae beam within the lens.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Decomposing the Drivers of Polar Amplification with a Single Column Model.
AbstractThe precise mechanisms driving Arctic amplification are still under debate. Previous attribution methods compute the vertically uniform temperature change required to balance the top-of-atmosphere energy imbalance caused by each forcing and feedback, with any departures from vertically uniform warming collected into the lapse-rate feedback.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
