Circularly Polarized Luminescence in Helicene and Helicenoid Derivatives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In this chapter, we discuss the circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) of helicene and helicenoid derivatives. The organic helicenic derivatives are classified according to the type of atom (heteroatom or carbon) incorporated within the helical backbone.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Recent advances in carbocupration of α-heterosubstituted alkynes

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2010
Carbocupration of α-heterosubstituted alkynes leads to the formation of stereodefined functionalized vinyl copper species as single isomer. Recent advances in the field show that a simple pre-association of the organometallic derivative with an ...

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Numerical treatment of fractal boundary value problems for heat conduction in polar bear with spatial variation of thermal conductivity

open access: yesExamples and Counterexamples, 2022
A high-resolution compact discretization scheme for the numerical approximation of two-point nonlinear fractal boundary value problems is presented to study the stationary anomalous diffusion process.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

INEQUALITIES FOR A CLASS OF MEROMORPHIC FUNCTIONS WHOSE ZEROS ARE WITHIN OR OUTSIDE A GIVEN DISK

open access: yesUral Mathematical Journal, 2023
In this paper, we consider a class of meromorphic functions \(r(z)\) having an \(s\)-fold zero at the origin and establish some inequalities of Bernstein and Turán type for the modulus of the derivative of rational functions  in the sup-norm on the disk ...

Polarized Supramolecular Aggregates Based on Luminescent Perhalogenated Gold Derivatives [PDF]

open access: yesInorganic Chemistry, 2017
The reaction of [Au(C6F5)(tht)] (tht = tetrahydrothiophene) with 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (PTA) and 3,7-diacetyl-1,3,7-triaza-5-phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane (DAPTA) leads to the formation of [Au(C6F5)(phosph)] (phosph = PTA, 1; phosph = DAPTA, 2).

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Self-assembly and semiconductivity of an oligothiophene supergelator

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2010
A bis(trialkoxybenzamide)-functionalized quaterthiophene derivative was synthesized and its self-assembly properties in solution were studied. In non-polar solvents such as cyclohexane, this quaterthiophene π-system formed fibril aggregates with an H ...
