Polar HARP for the polar CMR tagging [PDF]
Background The polar coordinate system adapts best to the morphology of the heart. The recently developed sequences that allow the CMR Tagging in the circular and radial directions facilitate the calculation and presentation of the myocardium mechanics.

Polarization resolved angular patterns in nematic liquid crystal cells [PDF]
We study the angular structure of polarization of light transmitted through a nematic liquid crystal (NLC) cell by theoretically analyzing the polarization state as a function of the incidence angles.

Anti-Lambda polarization in high energy pp collisions with polarized beam [PDF]
We study the polarization of the anti-Lambda particle in polarized high energy pp collisions at large transverse momenta. The anti-Lambda polarization is found to be sensitive to the polarization of the anti-strange sea of the nucleon. We make predictions using different parameterizations of the polarized quark distribution functions.

The GTPase Cdc42 specifies polarity in various biological processes. Kesavan et al. (2009) now demonstrate that Cdc42 also regulates epithelial cell polarity in the developing mouse pancreas, where it is required for tubule formation and maintenance.

Polarization of synchrotron emission from relativistic reconfinement shocks
We study the polarization properties of relativistic reconfinement shocks with chaotic magnetic fields. Using our hydrodynamical model of their structure, we calculate synthetic polarization maps, longitudinal polarization profiles and discuss the ...

Nucleon polarization in deuteron electrodisintegration [PDF]
Outgoing nucleon polarization in exclusive deuteron electrodisintegration is studied at the quasi-elastic peak in the standard theory with emphasis on the effect of nucleonic and pionic relativistic corrections. The cases of polarized beam or/and polarized target are considered.

Cell polarity: Par for the polar course [PDF]
The nematode PAR-1 gene is required for asymmetric cell divisions during development. Recently identified mammalian Par-1 homologues are kinases that phosphorylate microtubule-associated proteins; their overexpression disrupts the microtubule cytoskeleton, and alters cellular structure and organization.

Solutions to the dynamical equation of polarization-mode dispersion and polarization-dependent losses [PDF]
We study the evolution of optical signals in single-mode optical fibers in the presence of polarization-mode dispersion and polarization-dependent losses.
