Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Pole Placement Control of a 2D Gantry Crane System with Varying Pole Locations
A gantry crane is widely used in industries for transportation of heavy loads, but control of this system for a fast operation is challenging. This paper presents the application of pole placement controller for controlling a 2D gantry crane system to ...

Eigenvalue Placement and Stabilization by Constrained Optimization [PDF]
A pole placement algorithm is proposed which uses constrained nonlinear optimization techniques on a finite dimensional model of a linear n degree of freedom system. Low order feedback control is assumed where r poles may be assigned; r being the rank of

This study investigates thermo‐chemical processes during high‐temperature testing of two commercial MgO‐C brick grades, one containing 47.5 wt.% MgO‐C recyclate. Using ETV, DTA/TG‐MS, XRD, and SEM/EDS/EBSD, mechanisms such as carbothermal reduction of magnesia, impurity incorporation into the secondary MgO surface layer, and calcium‐rich phase ...

Robust and Arbitrary Pole Placement using Static Output Feedback [PDF]
This paper presents the output feedback pole assignment methods that attempt to achieve a robust solution where the arbitrary choose of the poles to be assigned are as insensitive as possible to perturbations in the closed loop system.

Design of random delay network controller based on pole placement [PDF]
To address the random short delay problem, this paper describes the Network Control System(NCS) as a switching system based on the combination of time-driven sensors and actuators and event-driven discrete controllers.By using the pole placement and the ...

Adaptive poleplacement: the division by zero problem [PDF]
We re-examine the division by zero problem which occurs in certainty equivalence based indirect adaptive control algorithms applied to linear systems. By exploiting a parametrization for linear systems induced by the continued fraction description of its
