Optimal Medium Composition to Enhance Poly-β-hydroxybutyrate Production by Ralstonia eutropha Using Cane Molasses as Sole Carbon Source [PDF]
In order to reduce the costs associated with Poly-β-hydroxybutyrate production, growth and Poly-β-hydroxybutyrate production of Ralstonia eutropha were studied in batch culture on different carbon sources.

Poly-β-Hydroxybutyrate Production by the Cyanobacterium Scytonema geitleri Bharadwaja under Varying Environmental Conditions [PDF]
The production of poly-β-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) under varying environmental conditions (pH, temperature and carbon sources) was examined in the cyanobacterium Scytonema geitleri Bharadwaja isolated from the roof-top of a building. The S.

Function and treatment strategies of β-hydroxybutyrate in aging
Metabolic intermediates serve as precursors for bioactive molecule synthesis, the energy source for life activities, and signals for environmental adaptation. Ketone bodies are important metabolic intermediates produced in the liver by the degradation of

Poly-β-hydroxybutyric acid in staphylococci [PDF]
Poly-β-hydroxybutyric acid (PHB) was extracted from various species of staphylococci isolated from different sources. IR and UV spectrophotometry and NMR analysis revealed that the compound consisted only of the β-hydroxybutyrate. The PHB level in the richest strain among investigated staphylococci is about 64-fold less than in bacilli.

Regulation of poly-β-hydroxybutyrate biosynthesis by nicotinamide nucleotide in Alcaligenes eutrophus [PDF]
Poly-β-hydroxybutyrate biosynthesis was studied in Alcaligenes eutrophus under various nutrient-limiting conditions. When the cells were cultivated in nitrogen-limited media, both the levels of NAD(P)H and the ratios of NAD(P)H/NAD(P) were higher than those under nitrogen-sufficient conditions.

Utilization of poly-β-hydroxybutyrate in free-living cultures ofRhizobiumORS571 [PDF]
The effect of carbon starvation on growth and poly-β-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) utilization in oxygen-limited chemostat cultures of Rhizobium ORS571 was studied. Under oxygen-limited growth conditions PHB was not degraded. When in a nitrogen-fixing oxygen-limited culture, after stopping the medium supply, the dissolved oxygen concentration was maintained at
