Rational halogen mixing strategy was employed to shift the bandgap of Cs2PbBr2I2 from ultraviolet to visible region, enabling first realization of a visible‐light photodetector with this 2D layered Ruddlesden‐Popper perovskite material. Under illumination, light‐induced internal field forms and drives trap‐mediated persistent photoconductivity ...

NAD tagSeq reveals that NAD+-capped RNAs are mostly produced from a large number of protein-coding genes in Arabidopsis. [PDF]
The 5' end of a eukaryotic mRNA transcript generally has a 7-methylguanosine (m7G) cap that protects mRNA from degradation and mediates almost all other aspects of gene expression.

Effect of Larval Nutrition on Maternal mRNA Contribution to the Drosophila Egg. [PDF]
Embryonic development begins under the control of maternal gene products, mRNAs and proteins that the mother deposits into the egg; the zygotic genome is activated some time later. Maternal control of early development is conserved across metazoans. Gene

Broadband, Flexible, Skin‐Compatible Carbon Dots/Graphene Photodetectors for Wearable Applications
Broadband, flexible photodetectors integrating nitrogen‐rich carbon dots with single‐layer graphene on plastic substrates are demonstrated. A biocompatible chitosan–glycerol electrolyte enables efficient low‐voltage gating and on‐skin operation. The devices exhibit ultraviolet‐to‐near‐infrared response, mechanical robustness under bending, and verified

Lsm14b controls zebrafish oocyte growth by regulating polyadenylation of the mRNA poly(A) tail
Lsm14b (LSM family member 14b) is a messenger ribonucleoprotein (mRNP) and a widely present component in eukaryotes. Lsm14b participates in oocyte development by regulating mRNA translation, however, the specific translational regulatory mechanisms ...

UV Degradation of the Optical Properties of Acrylic for Neutrino and Dark Matter Experiments [PDF]
UV-transmitting (UVT) acrylic is a commonly used light-propagating material in neutrino and dark matter detectors as it has low intrinsic radioactivity and exhibits low absorption in the detectors' light producing regions, from 350 nm to 500 nm ...

Nab2, a Three-Cornered Hat to Bind a Poly(A) Tail [PDF]
In this issue of Structure, Brockman and co-workers reveal the structure and interactions of Nab2 with polyadenosine RNA, which marks the completion of 3' end processing and initiates the assembly of mRNA and carrier proteins for export through the nuclear pore complex.

Pullulan, a biomass‐derived polysaccharide, is transformed into transparent optical fibers using a solvent‐free borax hydrogel‐spinning method. The fibers outperform PMMA with ≈200 MPa tensile strength and 200 °C stability, while uniquely guiding visible‐to‐NIR light and enabling additive‐free humidity sensing.
