AbstractGraft copolymerization of methyl acrylate (MA) and acrylonitrile (AN) onto acacia cellulose was carried out using free radical initiating process in which ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) was used as an initiator. The optimum grafting yield was determined by the certain amount of acacia cellulose (AGU), mineral acid (H2SO4), CAN, MA, and AN at 0 ...

In the present research, ultrafine styrene–acrylonitrile copolymer nanofibers (SAN-NFs) were prepared based on the forcespinning method. The SAN solution of 10% in THF: DMF solvent mixture, a 27-gauge nozzle and a rotational speed of 5000 rpm were the optimized parameters for the preparation of SAN-NFs with an average diameter of 335 nm.

Graphene Oxide Functionalization With Poly(Amidoxime) via Optimized Polyacrylonitrile Grafting
Journal of Applied Polymer ScienceABSTRACT This study proposes the synthesis of a poly(amidoxime) functionalized graphene oxide by using polyacrylonitrile (PAN)‐grafted graphene oxide (GO) precursor with different grafting percentages. A significant novelty in this study is that the emulsion graft polymerization of acrylonitrile on a gamma‐irradiated and silanized GO ...

AbstractThe interaction of uranyl ions (UO) with interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) based on amidoximated poly(acrylonitrile)/poly(N‐vinyl 2‐pyrrolidone) was examined. The adsorption capacity of IPN hydrogels as well as the adsorption kinetics and the effect of temperature on UO ion adsorption were investigated.
