Influence of Emulsion Polymerization Techniques to Particle Size of Copoly(styrene/butyl acrylate/methyl methacrylate)

open access: yesMakara Seri Sains, 2008
In the majority of applications, particle size and particle size distribution are highly significant factors that determine the properties of a polymer dispersion, such as its flow behavior or its stability.

A Critical Appraisal of RAFT-Mediated Polymerization-Induced Self-Assembly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Recently, polymerization-induced self-assembly (PISA) has become widely recognized as a robust and efficient route to produce block copolymer nanoparticles of controlled size, morphology, and surface chemistry.

Quantification of Homopolymer Impurities in Structured Acrylate Copolymers Produced by High‐Temperature Semi‐Batch Radical Polymerization

open access: yesMacromolecular Reaction Engineering, EarlyView.
Isobornyl acrylate macromonomer solutions are synthesized via high‐temperature radical polymerization using a starved‐feed semi‐batch operating policy. Through sequential feeding, the macromonomer solution functions as an addition‐fragmentation agent, facilitating the production of blocky and comb acrylate copolymers.

Liquid droplets on a free-standing glassy membrane: deformation through the glass transition

open access: yes, 2017
In this study, micro-droplets are placed on thin, glassy, free-standing films where the Laplace pressure of the droplet deforms the free-standing film, creating a bulge. The film's tension is modulated by changing temperature continuously from well below

Robust β‐myrcene block copolymer elastomeric vitrimers

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Myrcene‐based vitrimeric elastomers were compared: statistical (poly(styrene‐stat‐myrcene‐stat‐AAEMA)] versus ‘hard–soft’ diblock (poly(styrene)‐block‐poly(myrcene‐co‐AAEMA)). The diblock's ability to anchor the glassy poly(styrene) blocks in a self‐assembled microstructure was effective – leading to four times higher tensile stress and ten times ...

Cationic‐Hydrophilic Di‐Block Copolymers: Surface‐Shielded Vectors for Gene Delivery

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 1419-1432, 15 March 2025.
This study develops synthetic polycationic di‐block carriers for nucleic acid (NA) delivery in gene therapy. Consisting of a cationic block and a hydrophilic block, these carriers efficiently form complexes with NAs and shield them with a protective bioinert layer, enhancing stability during circulation in the bloodstream while reducing undesirable ...

Droplets on liquids and their long way into equilibrium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The morphological paths towards equilibrium droplets during the late stages of the dewetting process of a liquid film from a liquid substrate is investigated experimentally and theoretically.

Electron Transfer Dissociation and Synchrotron UV Photodissociation of Trapped Sodiated Ions Produced From Polyacrylates by Electrospray Ionization

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rationale Poly (acrylates)s can be distinguished from one another by the nature of their side chains. From model poly (acrylates)s, the purpose of this work was to evaluate the contribution of alternative activation techniques to the collisional activation, based on ion–ion and ion–photon interactions.
