A novel mechanism of "metal gel-shift" by histidine-rich Ni2+-binding Hpn protein from Helicobacter pylori strain SS1. [PDF]
Sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) is a universally used method for determining approximate molecular weight (MW) in protein research.

Formation and quantification of protein complexes between peroxisomal alcohol oxidase and GroEL [PDF]
We have studied the use of yeast peroxisomal alcohol oxidase (AO) as a model protein for in vitro binding by GroEL. Dilution of denatured AO in neutral buffer leads to aggregation of the protein, which is prevented by the addition of GroEL.

DIFFERENTIATION OF CROATIAN BARLEY VARIETIES BY GRADIENT GEL SDS-PAGE AND ISOELECTRIC FOCUSING OF DRY GRAINS AND GREEN MALT HORDEINS [PDF]
Applicability of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and isoelectric focusing of hordeins for discrimination of six two-rowed winter barley varieties (Angora, Sladoran, Rodnik, Rex, Martin and Barun) has been investigated.

An Improved Method for PAGE-based Detection of Phosphorylated Protein in Yeast
One dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis has been successfully used to detect protein phosphorylation. This method is very simple and highly reproducible.

Molecular Weight Distribution of Proteins Synthesized in Single, Identified Neurons of Aplysia [PDF]
Parietovisceral ganglia from Aplysia californica were incubated in medium containing leucine-3H. Single, identified nerve cell somas were isolated from the ganglia, and their proteins extracted and separated by electrophoresis on 5% SDS-polyacrylamide ...

Dimeric pyruvate formate‐lyase cleaves pyruvate using a radical‐based mechanism. G734 serves as a radical storage location, and the radical is transferred to the catalytic C419 residue. Mutation of the C418‐C419 pair causes loss of enzyme activity, but does not impede radical introduction onto G734. Therefore, cis‐ but not trans‐radical transfer occurs

Studies of the binding of different iron donors to human serum transferrin and isolation of iron-binding fragments from the N- and C-Terminal regions of the protein [PDF]
1. Trypsin digestion of human serum transferrin partially saturated with iron(III)- nitrilotriacetate at pH5.5 or pH 8.5 produces a carbohydrate-containing iron-binding fragment of mol.wt. 43000. 2. When iron(III) citrate, FeCI3, iron(II) ascorbate and

We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.
