Synthesis and characterization of electrospun cerium-doped bioactive glass/chitosan/polyethylene oxide composite scaffolds for tissue engineering applications

Ceramics International, 2021
In this study, a series of electrospun chitosan/polyethylene oxide (PEO) nanofibrous scaffolds containing different amount of cerium-doped bioactive glasses (Ce-BGs) have been fabricated and proposed for tissue engineering applications.

Photoactive electrospun cellulose acetate/polyethylene oxide/methylene blue and trilayered cellulose acetate/polyethylene oxide/silk fibroin/ciprofloxacin nanofibers for chronic wound healing.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2021
This study aimed to synthesize cellulose acetate (CA)-based electrospun nanofibers as drug delivery dressings for chronic wound healing. For the first time, CA was blended with polyethylene oxide (CA) using acetone and formic acid.

THE ACTIVATION ENERGY OF PURE POLYETHYLENE OXIDE AND POLYETHYLENE OXIDE DISPERSED WITH IODINE

Journal of Southwest Jiaotong University, 2022
The activation energy of thin films polymers made of pure polyethylene oxide (PEO) andPEOdoped with 0.1 % by weight iodine were investigated. The observed physical constants of the cast thin films, such as the activation energy were determined. The films were prepared by the casting method using electricity. This study investigated the variation of the

Stabilizing Zinc Anode Reactions by Polyethylene Oxide Polymer in Mild Aqueous Electrolytes

Advanced Functional Materials, 2020
Zn dendrites growth and poor cycling stability are significant challenges for rechargeable aqueous Zn batteries. Zn metal deposition‐dissolution in aqueous electrolytes is typically determined by Zn anode–electrolyte interfaces. In this work, the role of

Subsurface oxidation of polyethylene

Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1998
Since the 1960s ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene has been a primary bearing material in orthopedic prostheses. Most polyethylene components have been sterilized by exposure to gamma radiation, but in the presence of oxygen this promotes degradation and correlates with component failure in the body.

Efficient and reusable polyethylene oxide/polyaniline composite membrane for dye adsorption and filtration

, 2020
The endless introduction of toxic dyes through industrialization has worsened the dyes pollution in the environment. As a consequence, the need for the effective removal of such dyes has become more crucial than before.

On the mechanism of cryoprotection by polyethylene oxide

Cryobiology, 1976
Abstract Bone marrow cells and peripheral blood leukocytes have been exposed to a 15% solution of polyethylene oxide of molecular weight 400 (PEO-400) and the effect on DNA synthesis, oxygen uptake, and the activity of oxidative-reductive enzymes has been studied.

Nanosecond laser ablation assisted the enhancement of antibacterial activity of copper oxide nano particles embedded though Polyethylene Oxide/Polyvinyl pyrrolidone blend matrix

, 2020
Via one-step Laser Ablation process, different contributions of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs) were scattered through Polyethylene Oxide (PEO)/Polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) blend matrix. The obtained films were characterized via XRD and FTIR.

Oxidative degradation of polyethylene

Journal of Polymer Science, 1956
AbstractThe degradation of polyethylene in molecular oxygen between 150 and 250°C., in ozone‐enriched O2 between 20 and 109°C. and in fuming HNO3 between 25 and 83°C. has been studied. The solid, liquid, and vapor products have been analyzed by means of their infrared spectra. Kinetically, the O2 oxidation reaction appears to be second order.
