Regulating Lipid Metabolism in Cancer: The Therapeutic Potential of Traditional Chinese Medicine

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
By regulating the reprogramming of lipid metabolism in tumor cells, TCM provides a novel strategy for antitumor therapy with reduced toxicity and enhanced efficacy. ABSTRACT Lipid metabolic reprogramming is a key feature of tumor cells to adapt to the microenvironment and plays an important role in tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis.

Germplasm preservation in vitro of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb

open access: yesPharmacognosy Magazine, 2014
The root of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. is a common traditional Chinese medicine. In recent years, the wild resources of P. multiflorum have been seriously broken, and the cultivated varieties have been degrading. The germplasm resources of P. multiflorum need protection and preservation. So far, no in vitro germplasm preservation of P.

Protective effects of extracellular vesicle‐like nanoparticles derived from Cannabis sativa adventitious roots against UVB‐induced damage in human keratinocytes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
Cannabis sativa root‐derived extracellular vesicle‐like nanoparticles (CA‐NPs) were isolated from adventitious root cultures and subjected to physicochemical characterization. Upon UVB exposure, keratinocytes exhibited increased ROS generation, apoptosis and MAPK activation, leading to oxidative stress and skin damage.

No need to seed: restoring species‐rich grassland on former arable fields by natural regeneration

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Over the last century, agricultural intensification has caused substantial losses of semi‐natural species‐rich grasslands. One means of restoring grassland habitat is to abandon farmed land, followed by mowing and/or grazing of the established vegetation to facilitate meadow diversification. Objectives This study investigated post‐
