Lysozyme templates bioinspired silicification via localized electrostatic pooling, at variance with disordered peptides, require counterion‐driven coacervation. Small‐angle X‐ray scattering and NMR spectroscopy reveal that the folded lysozyme template remains structurally inert and monomeric in the presence of silicic acid mimics and alcohol byproducts.
