Influence of water on localized and delocalized molecular mobility of cellulose [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The influence of hydration on cellulose molecular mobility is investigated by two dielectric methods at different molecular scale. The mobility of side groups, assigned to c mode, for dried cellulose increases.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Polymerization of Ethylene Glycol Dimethacrylate (EGDM), Using An Algerian Clay as Eco-catalyst (Maghnite-H+ and Maghnite-Na+)

open access: yesBulletin of Chemical Reaction Engineering & Catalysis, 2020
In this paper we have explored a novel and green method to synthesis and polymerize ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDM). This technique consists on using Maghnite (Algerian clay) as a green catalyst to replace toxic catalysts.

Fragility of a thermoplastic polymer. Influence of main chain rigidity in polycarbonate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present new data on a vitreous polycarbonate (PC) and its fragility index. Measurements have been performed by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Ionic Liquid-Nanostructured Poly(Methyl Methacrylate)

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2019
Here, ionic liquids (ILs) based on imidazolium and ammonium cations were used as modifying agents for poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) by extrusion. The effects of the chemical nature of the cation and/or counter anion on the resulting properties of IL ...

Ionic Liquids-Containing Silica Microcapsules: A Potential Tunable Platform for Shaping-Up Epoxy-Based Composite Materials?

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
In this work, silica microcapsules containing phosphonium ionic liquid (IL), denoted SiO2@IL, were successfully synthesized for the first time using the one step sol-gel method in IL/H20 emulsion.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Influence of Processing and Storage on the Shear Thickening Properties of Highly Concentrated Monodisperse Silica Particles in Polyethylene Glycol

open access: yesApplied Rheology, 2013
The shear thickening behavior of concentrated suspensions can be exploited to dissipate energy during impact or shear loading. To preserve the consistency of the thickening behavior in practical applications, particle concentration, and dispersion should
