Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

Effect of SBS Compatibilizer SBS and Particle size on Mechanical Properties of Blends of PS/Waste Rubber (SBRr)

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Exatas e Tecnológicas, 2014
One way to modify the properties of polymer systems is to mixture one or more polymer and/or copolymers, i.e., to obtain polymer blends. The aim of this work was to produce polymer blends from a polystyrene matrix with rubber wastes, aiming to study ...

Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...

Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

The Effect of Oleic Acid-Grafted Linear Low-Density Polyethylene as Compatibilizer on the Properties of Linear Low-Density Polyethylene/Cyclic Natural Rubber Blends

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology, 2023
In this paper, we report that the compatibility of polymer blends between linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and cyclic natural rubber (CNR) can be increased by the addition of oleic acid-grafted linear low-density polyethylene. The research aims
