Chitin‐Derived Carbon‐Metal Functional Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Functional carbon materials are synthesized from combination of biopolymer (chitin) and iron precursors. The resultant material exhibits superior surface area and adsorptive properties compared to carbon materials synthesized directly from pure chitin.

High‐Throughput Discovery of Quantum Frustrated Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Physics‐guided discovery of frustrated kagome and triangular magnets. ABSTRACT Geometrical frustration provides a fertile platform for realizing exotic quantum phases such as spin liquids, yet, the predictive identification of frustrated magnets remains limited.

Characterization of the Maf family of polymorphic toxins in pathogenic Neisseria species

open access: yes, 2015
In addition to harmless commensal species, Neisseria genus encompasses two pathogenic species, N. meningitidis (the meningococcus) and N. gonorrhoeae (the gonococcus), which are responsible for meningitis and genital tract infections, respectively. Since

Engineering Local Polar Frustration in Lead‐Free Dielectric Ceramics for Ultrahigh Normalized Energy Storage Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Local polar frustration is engineered to stabilize an ergodic relaxer through nanoscale multiphase coexistence, suppressing long‐range ferroelectric order while preserving high polarization. This strategy delivers ultrahigh low‐field normalized energy density (Wa >0.020 mC cm−2), exceptional thermal stability, and a transferable design principle for ...

Oxygen‐Vacancy‐Regulated Crystallization and Ferroelectric Phase Stabilization in Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Temperature‐resolved in situ grazing‐incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering reveals that oxygen vacancies actively regulate crystallization in Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 thin films. By decoupling macroscopic strain from intrinsic phase evolution, a vacancy‐lean environment significantly lowers the activation energy barrier for crystallization.

Allele Diversity of Diiti Cattle Using Microsatellite Loci

open access: yesAnimal Production: Indonesian Journal of Animal Production
Diiti cattle or Gorontalo local cattle were cattle that have the same exterior characteristics like Bali and PO cattle. To provide information regarding the unknown state of Diiti cattle, allele diversity was evaluated using ILSTS017, HEL13 and BM1818 ...

Development and characterization of polymorphic EST markers in common carp

open access: yes, 2008
Expressed sequence tags (ESTs) are of high value in genome mapping and marker-assisted selection (MAS). This study aims to develop EST markers for genome mapping and other studies of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L).
