Modelling of Heat Transfer Processes with Compartment/Population Balance Model
A compartment/population balance model is presented for describing heat transfer in gas-solid fluidized bed heat exchangers, modelling the particle-particle and particle-surface heat transfers by collisions.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

A population balance model of ball wear in grinding mills: An experimental case study
A general and realistic population balance model is applied to a ceramic ball mill. The experimental data are obtained for three differently sized balls. The mill is operated 500 h with silica sand during 8 cycles.

Modeling Polymer Microencapsulation Processes Using CFD and Population Balance Models
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling has emerged as a valuable tool for investigating complex processes like microencapsulation. This paper aims to validate the ability of CFD simulations to predict particle size distribution in a polymer microencapsulation process.

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
